Capybara

The Capybara crew has been taking a well-deserved break for the past few days, returning to beautiful Taos, New Mexico where they recorded Try Brother earlier this year.  Mark reported last night that they’ve been stuffing themselves full of green chile and working on their acoustic chops for the next leg of the tour, which resumes TONIGHT in Albuquerque at Heaven & Hell!  Come and check it out!

Or, if you’re far from the desert, Capybara will be making an in-studio appearance tomorrow evening at KRUX in Las Cruces and playing the acoustic songs they’ve been working on this week.  You can listen tomorrow live via THIS LINK, and they should go on around 4pm MST!

The boys in Capybara are super psyched to announce their very first remix contest!  Submit your own remix of “The Wimp” to win great prizes from The Record Machine / Mushpot Records / and Team Clermont.  The stakes are high, people.  The world’s largest gummy bear hangs in the balance, and it could be YOURS.

We were very excited here at Camp Capybara to learn that “The Wimp” was recently featured on a mix tape put out by The World’s Best Ever, alongside tracks from stellar artists like Jens Lekman, Karen O, and Arcade Fire.  The mix was curated by We Love You So, a collaboration between Spike Jonze, Dallas Clayton, Graham Kolbeins, Molly Young, and Matt Rubin.

We couldn’t be more thrilled!
