Hey BoingBoing readers! Thanks for visiting our Vimeo - If you like what you hear, check us out at www.capybaramusic.com - we would love to be your friend! Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/heycapybara Twitter: @capybaramusic iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/try-brother/id325776412 Recorded November 2009 - Austin, TX - Garrison Park Song is "Magpies" / CAPYBARA - "We'll never succeed. We may as well die here." - "No, no. We have already succeeded. I mean, what are the three terrors of the Fire Swamp? One, the flame spurt - no problem. There's a popping sound preceding each; we can avoid that. Two, the lightning sand, which you were clever enough to discover what that looks like, so in the future we can avoid that too." - "Westley, what about the R.O.U.S.'s?" - "Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist." [Immediately, an R.O.U.S. attacks him] Few things happen in life that bring as much simple joy. Meeting Caplin ROUS and his kind team of smiling friends was SUCH a pleasure, one that I am glad was captured in this video. Their willingness to accommodate, to go out of their way to help us make this happen gives me hope for an already-great world made even better. Follow Caplin ROUS - I guarantee you will not be disappointed: Blog: www.GiantHamster.com Facebook: www.facebook.com/caplin.rous Twitter: @CaplinROUS
Daniel Johnston is joined by local band Capybara for Middle of the Map Fest in Kansas City on April 9, 2011.
Capybara visits KRUX 91.5FM in Las Cruces, NM for an afternoon of acoustic experimentation with a few tracks from Try Brother. Thanks to Ryan Prieto for bringing us out to the station, showing us the largest plate of nachos west of the Mississippi, and helping us eat them. Stay tuned for more tour updates!
CAPYBARA visits KCOU 88.1 FM at their humble HQ in Columbia, MO for an afternoon of high fives and music / interviews. Music Director / new best friend Kyle McDonald helps the fellas get set up to broadcast. While they cram into this tiny room and set up drums anywhere they can, we take a sneak peek and introduce the guys as they prepare to take off on tour. www.capybaramusic.com
On what would appear to be an average Sunday night in Minneapolis, Capybara parked their handsome van on a dark street by a park downtown, and piled out. As they walked down the lighted loading dock toward the St Anthony Main building, it was almost in slow motion that they looked around them, without expectation. But as they met the friendly handshakes and smiles of a team who habitually greets the Twin Cities a healthy serving of color and piz-spaz once a week, (every week), little did Capybara know that they would leave different than they came; more awake, and even -- deeky. Capybara is pleased to announce their first attempt at a music video from Try Brother (2009): Freakybara plays the Hits! SONG: Cutaway Kid feat. Freaky Deeky Tune in to Freaky Deeky LIVE at 10PM (CST) every Sunday / MTN Channel 17 (in Minneapolis) / OR! / ON THE WEB! http://www.livestream.com/mtnternet
